Some songs take a few listens to familiarize themselves, while others hook you in the very first time you hear them. Born To Run was one of those that got me from the moment I first heard it on the radio. I bought Bruce Springsteen’s breakthrough album the year it was released (1975) and fell in love with everything about it…the songs, the production, the performances, just the whole vibe that ran through it. Springsteen kind of set this tone that was almost like listening to a movie inside your head. From the opening majesty of Thunder Road to the epic finale of Jungleland, this album is pretty close to perfect for me. I have to also mention a couple of other favorites, Meeting Across The River is sublime, She’s The One rocks with a vengeance, and Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out is pure fun. To all the Springsteen haters, I sympathize, but you’re still wrong!
