My Bloody Valentine: Loveless
Loveless (1991), by My Bloody Valentine, is like the equivalent of an audio hallucination.
There is really nothing else quite like it. Guitarist/singer/songwriter Kevin Shields sculpted this weird, shimmering dream of an album and I can’t really do justice to trying to describe it. The music is beautiful and mysterious and it is something that one has to be in the mood for, because it won’t work at a party or in the daylight.
This is a nighttime, solitary type of record. Loveless is a work of genius!
