Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band: Live Bullet
In 1976 Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band released ‘Live’ Bullet and were poised on the brink of national superstardom.
Seger’s followup (Night Moves), released just 6 months later, would seal the deal. I attended my first rock concert right in the middle of these two magical albums and witnessed Seger and his Silver Bullets open for Kiss on their Destroyer tour.
The feeling in that arena was exactly the same as the one captured on ‘Live’ Bullet, that of a band in full control of their destiny.
The best live albums demonstrate that bond between an artist and their audience, with all the confidence, bravado, and electric excitement that permeated arena rock in all its glory. Seger particularly connected with the Midwest, being a Detroit based act.
I have extreme sentimental memories tied to this incredible document of a band reaching for the stars and coming up with a fistful of them.
