Wooden Maw is a project founded in september, 2020 by Eliott Raveau, a metal musician from Normandy, France and already involved into several band and projects in the French scene.

Initially aimed at being a canvas for practicing songwriting and mixing, the project progressively took a different shape with a whole part of it revolving around collaborating : indeed musicians are invited to take part on certain songs, which is a good way to initiate interaction between passionate people, and helps saturated vocalists who don’t all have had the chance to be featured on records to have on of their performances immortalized.

Right now the project is separated in to sides which both have a compilation associated to them : “Collabs” which is for songs with guests, and “Independent Songs” gathering solo tracks As for the project’s musical style, although making small changes here and there to fit the guests’ taste, it revolves mostly around a rythmic metal tuned low, sounding halfway between Deathcore, Djent and Grindcore.

Among the different projects in which Eliott takes part, Wooden Maw is the most violent and spontaneous one Currently no shows are planned, but the idea to perform in front of an audience still is a source of motivation so never say ‘never’

Founded in 2014, The Kompressor Experiment defines itself as an instrumental Post-Metal band.

In 2016, the band released its debut full-length album called ‘DOUZE’ following by an EP (‘Monolith’) three years later.

After rewriting a Post-Metal soundtrack for ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, the band performed a dozen cinema-concerts in Switzerland. At the same time, the band also played standard live shows (PALP Festival, Le Romandie) and released their second album “2001” in october 2019. During spring of 2020, a line-up change occurred.

The band recorded and released an EP named “KMPXP” for this milestone. It also announced the new artistic direction for the future of The Kompressor Experiment.

This new album, “Ebb & Flow” is recorded during spring of 2021 by Ludovic Volper (Méande). Darker and more frantic than ever, the 7 tracks present a view of the history of mankind, its uncertain beginnings (Endure The Sky, Riss-Würm), through its exponential development (Epigenesis), its infinite violent cycles (Tooth & Nail, Castle Bravo I and II) to end on a hope for resilience (Liminal Space). Musically, the album draws from post-metal and prog-metal, with influences such as The Ocean, Leprous or Russian Circles while integrating elements from electronic music and offering a greater presence to synthesizers.

“Ebb & Flow” will be released on April 9th, 2022 (Digital, CD and Vinyl) through Sunday Fog. A release party is scheduled the same day at Pont-Rouge, Monthey (VS).

“The music of Waking The Sleeping Bear is an all-angers crossoad. It’s about time passing, past adolescence too quickly disappeared, about the anguish of the future by the ones that are dismayed by the past… Dressed sometimes with tribal sounds, sometimes with suffocating synthetic ambiences, the “nü metal” of WTSB hammers with rage some powerful convictions over a frenetic French-speaking phrasing, sometimes sung, rapped, shouted,…”

Officially born in 2017 with the release of a first single “Drapeau Rouge”, the band actually finds its roots 10 years ago, when Adrien, Edwin, Arthur and Simon met on the benches of Dole (France) schools. From their multiple aborted projects springs the current formation of WTSB in 2015, gathered by chance in the urgency of a concert to ensure. To this anecdotal birth will follow a project fueled since by passion and unshakeable friendship, which will lead
after two singles to a first EP in 2018: “Jungle Urbaine” A molten substance, both elusive and superfluous, WTSB’s sound never embarrasses itself with labels, venturing almost randomly in all territories. From rap to world music, from indus to fusion, everything is melted on a modern metal basement, where the seeds were planted 20 years earlier, by Team Nowhere of Family Values Tour. Between disillusioned punk rebellion and full of hope refelctions, the quartet deploys a breathtaking energy, tribal and electronic, that perfectly fits for thelive. Its on stage that WTSB’s power is fully revealed, and it is on stage that they will defend their new album “P*rno Future” with the most ardor, waking up once again the metaphorical “sleeping bear” in each of us.

French alternative-rock band TRANK unveil new official music video “Shining,” New album expanded reissue ‘The Ropes’ out now

For reminder, ‘The Ropes – Monolith Edition’ is still available on 2CD,Digital and available for full-streaming on all legal services.

TRANK are a “new” rock band from France – chosen as opening act by Deep Purple, Anthrax, Papa Roach and Disturbed for their blend of alternative-rockpost-punk and metal.  TRANK are all French but write in English, a testimony to their lifelong love story with British and American acts, and influences too broad to list – from Deftones to Depeche Mode, Motörhead to Muse, Nick Drake to Nine Inch Nails, Pink Floyd to Porcupine Tree, REM to Rage Against The Machine.Like all these references, TRANK like to mine the darkest places in the human soul, pull out the worst of life’s frustrations and anxieties, and turn them into moments of catharsis that they can share with people who recognize those same feelings – be it by experience or anticipation.

After a first EP late 2016, and a series of singles in 2018 / 2019 which got them their prestigious opening slots, the guys gave birth to the fruit of all these collaborations with a their first album called ‘The Ropes’ (2020), re-released worldwide in 2021.
