Something about the crossbreeding of punk rock and outlaw country hell raising just massively appeals to me. I discovered Jason & The Scorchers the year their…well, scorching debut was released (1985). Lost & Found is a treasure chest of musical riches, catchy hooks, and nasty guitar…all tied together by Jason Ringenberg’s alternately wild and wistful crooning. The band I was in at that time covered White Lies, my favorite song on this album, and a song that holds the test of time, just superbly well written, and played with kamikaze glee by this band that remains a cult legend to this day. In addition to White Lies, other killer tracks included Blanket Of Sorrow, If Money Talks, Shop It Around, and Broken Whiskey Glass. These guys should have made it big, but at least they paved the way for a lot of others who caught their wave.
