Montreal Progressive Death MESSORA Premiere Album Stream “The Door”
Debut Album ‘The Door’ Out October 4th
Set to unleash their debut album “The Door” on October 4th, Montreal’s MESSORA are excited to share the release’s full stream via its exclusive premiere on Ghost Cult Mag HERE.
“The Door” is constantly shifting between genres, and creates a visceral atmosphere that can’t be confined to a single category, be prepared to hear death, melodic, doom and progressive elements throughout the seven tracks on the album. Looking to challenge listeners, MESSORA presents an album that requires attention and an open mind, as Zach Dean quotes:
“I am trying to present fans with a record that you listen to front to back and come out of feeling different. Maybe not even different, maybe just more like yourself. The album as a whole is very varied musically while remaining focused and tight. It’s very clearly a metal album but you can hear that we want to go to different places and incorporate different influences throughout the record. Most of the songs are very long and have very complicated structures and changes, but it’s always meant to feel right and musical rather than abrupt and meaningless.”
Any metal lover who craves proggy and dark music especially along the lines of Opeth, Psycroptic, and Gojira will find MESSORA to their liking.

Formed as a solo recording project in 2016 in Montréal, Québec, Messora has become a band that obscures and challenges genres. To the band, the music comes as what feels best in the moment. To the fans, it is a kaleidoscope of sound that appears different at every glance and to every eye.
Messora has been described as Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Progressive Metal, Melodic Metal, and Doom Metal by fans and showgoers. The elements that make up the music may seem familiar to some, yet the whole remains a challenge to define.
The band knows how to set themselves apart from others musically as well as aesthetically, with showmanship and presentation second only to musical performance during their live show. They demand attention with their presentation but keep it with the strength of their performance and musicianship. Having shared the stage with bands such as Carach Angren, Mors Principium Est, and Wolfheart, Messora always delivers, visually, aesthetically and musically.
When the album is at its fiercest, I get a distinct GOJIRA vibe…those hard as ice riffs, sterile vocals, and punishing sound.” 8/10 – Metal Temple“Messora constantly find new directions, evolving their music from one side to the other and back. The fact they can do it flawlessly is a joy [8/10] ” – Metal Noise
“The music is technical, brutal, thoughtful, and emotional; taking the listener on a singular journey to the recesses of your mind… This is music for your ears and soul, so purchase and stream the album at the links below.” – Ghost Cult Mag
“The Door is one record you certainly check out if you want nothing but solid tracks all the way through. This record will certainly put Messora on the metal map.” – Metal Utopia “Promising career start for the Canadian quartet” – Broken Tomb Magazine
“truly exceptionally talented musicianship that is simply a heavy work of art.” – Boston Rock Radio“Combining a variety of genres, the group made good impressions on those who shows up early with their tight musicianship and ability to change pace on a moment’s notice” – Apt 613
“… Messora was a whirlwind on stage. It was hard to believe that a half hour had passed when they began to play their final song, as each song had layered onto each other leaving viewers with a feeling that the experience was almost surreal.”- Splice Media Group
Less than a year after the release of their full length debut album, Topheth Ablaze, the faceless fiends of Plague Pit have returned. This time they bring with them a four track EP of unspeakable horrors, a collection of songs that hunger for your soul, whose malice and bitter hatred radiates from every note. Labyrinthine is a gateway to hell and to listen to these howling invocations of chaos is to welcome the essence of darkness into your heart. Since the soulless entities of Plague Pit first made their pact unto each other in 2016 their legend has been spreading like poison through the deepest reaches of the underground. The madness of Topheth Ablaze was passed in whispers, but now the whispers will become screams as the terror of Labyrinthine is unleashed. Binding sounds inspired by the death metal gods to visions of towering terror with chains of arcane knowledge, the dwellers of the Plague Pit have created a release of staggering power and insurmountable force. This is twisted, grotesque death metal of the blackest kind, a bestial roar of unearthly rage.
Plague Pit are the nameless devils of your nightmares, the unseen adversaries who leave you paralyzed with fear and Labyrinthine is an all out assault on your sanity. Plague Pit do not exist for your entertainment, they exist to consume you. These warped riffs, howling solos and relentless, battering drums are an open invitation to your end. There is no disguise and no pretence, just a seething mass of hatred, driven to destroy . . For more information on Plague Pit click here Visit Plague Pit on Facebook

Cell is a three-piece conceptual black metal band that formed in 2014 reigning from Winnipeg, Canada. They blend elements of old school and modern black metal with hints of death metal, hardcore, thrash, and doom to create reality-altering unrelenting cosmic black metal. Their concept is based on a science fiction comic book idea that Hyperion (guitar/vocals) was working to bring to life, but decided instead to turn into music.
Each song starts with Hyperion taking the reins by writing the song structure, riffs, and lyrics; Deimos (bass/vocals) and Hypnos (drums) adding in their preferences for riffs, lyrics and other such things to alter the songs for the better. There is a lot of cathartic emotion put into each song that connects to each member on a personal level while keeping within the dark sci-fi concept and using metaphors of what we as humans do to this planet and the life on it.
Using these topics, it’s easy for Cell to let everything out on stage every during every performance. They use a lot of art and theatre within the live show including using corpse paint, blood, armor, pro audio lights, and lasers. To see our show is to experience something emotional, aggressive, theatrical and cosmic.
Cell has toured across Canada multiple times and have been featured on several festivals including Black Mourning Light, Loud As Hell Metalfest, Armstrong Metalfest and Manitoba Metalfest sharing the stage with the likes of Skeletonwitch, Goatwhore, DRI, Revocation, and Aggression. They released their debut album ‘The Frozen Moon Of Erebath’ in 2016 and follow it up in 2019 with ‘Ancient Incantations Of Xarbos’.

Inspired by legendary pillars of heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, and Rush, Iron Kingdom is well known for their energetic and electrifying stage presence, as well as intricate musical melodies that bring listeners back to a time when the genre was in its prime.
Formed in Surrey, Canada, in June of 2011, Iron Kingdom’s intent was to fill the gap of bands that are heavy, but not extreme, melodic but not mainstream, technical but approachable. ‘Curse Of The Voodoo Queen’ was released on Dec 14, 2011, and the band took the opportunity to tour western Canada, along with an appearance on the CTV Show, Canada’s Got Talent (viewership of 1 million on that episode). With the debut album finishing its cycle, the group decided it was time to record a new album, and by April 26, 2013, ‘Gates Of Eternity’ was released. Garnering strong reviews and attention from around the world, Iron Kingdom was invited to perform at Germany’s Keep It True XVII festival.
Following this massive milestone, Iron Kingdom set out to pursue as many opportunities as they could spending some serious time on the road through Canada in 2013, Europe in 2014, followed by a tour in the USA with California’s Night Demon. The band had created some major momentum and Iron Kingdom were spreading their moniker far and wide in support of the first two releases.
On July 30, 2015, Iron Kingdom released not one but two more albums, ‘Ride For Glory’, their 3rd full-length album, as well as ‘Unleashed At The Kraken (Live In Seattle)’, an exclusive live E.P. recorded on a previous tour. The band set out on the road again in support of the two new releases. The tour was unfortunately riddled with many trials, including a vehicle accident that almost killed the band members. Life on the road continued, including a massive North American tour in 2016, as well as a tour in Brazil in a supporting slot for former frontman of Iron Maiden, Blaze Bayley.
As of 2019, with a new lineup and a new album ‘On The Hunt’ on its way, Iron Kingdom will once again be ready to take the world by storm and aid in the revival of the mighty and classic sounds of Traditional Heavy Metal.
“their latest work is the most refined Iron Kingdom album. One word obligatory item for old heavy school freaks.” – Power Metal Warrior (Poland) (Ride For Glory Review 2015)
“This is a tremendous throwback into the (first) golden age of metal.” – Merchants of Air (Belgium) (Ride For Glory Review 2015)
““Gates Of Eternity” could prove to be one of the most important discoveries in 2013 for U.S. Metal lovers.” – Rock Hard Magazine (Germany) (Gates of Eternity Review 2013)
“Sometimes you just want some glorious old school metal that makes you want to batter a dragon to death. Iron Kingdom are said band and from the opening track, At The Gates, I’m sold. When we reach Crowned In Iron we truly reach old school metal at its finest” – Sound the Charge (Scotland) (Gates of Eternity Review 2013)
“I want an Iron Kingdom/Voodoo Queen Baseball Tee so I can blast this album and try to sing along, banging my head and driving to the stadium in my Trans Am to drink cans of Bud in the parking lot before the Iron Kingdom show! I wish it was the 80’s right now.” – Metal Titans (Canada) (Curse of the Voodoo Queen Review 2011)

Actor Sid Haig best known for playing Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s Firefly film series has died aged 80
Actor Sid Haig, best known for his portrayal as the vile psychopathic clown Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie‘s Firefly film series has died at age 80.
Haig had been a mainstay of the horror and exploitation b-movie genres beginning in the 1960s. Rising to fame in Jack Hill’s blaxploitation films of the 1970s, Haig had become recognisable more recently thanks to his work with Rob Zombie.
After suffering a “nasty spell” according a post on his official Instagram account, the cult actor was admitted to hospital a couple of weeks ago.
Haig was later admitted to the ICU following breathing complications and was kept there under observation.
The actor couldn’t be present for the premiere of the latest Firefly flick, 3 From Hell, the final instalment of the trilogy of films that follow the twisted Firefly family – beginning with 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses and continuing in 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects.
Haig’s wife of 12 years, Susan L. Oberg , announced in a heartfelt message via the actor’s official Instagram earlier today that he had succumbed to his illness, passing away on Saturday September 21, 2019:
“On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens.
“He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us.
“We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected. Sidney Eddie Mosesian 7/14/39 – 9/21/19 Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend. Goodnight, my love. We will find each other again, next time. I love you.”
