Rockshots Records – Cosmic Metal VANDERLUST Take You On A Journey To Mars w/ New Music Video “High Hopes”

Cosmic metallers VANDERLUST (ft. members of S91, Dreal) invited fans into their galaxy of wonder with the release of their self-titled debut album released this past April via Rockshots Records.

Today, they share their next video adventure with “High Hopes”, a heavy-power metal song, that is fast and powerful. It mixes technical riffs with a melodic and catchy vocal line; it’s one of the band’s most Iron Maiden-oriented songs. The lyrics speak about the first human travel to Mars and the great hopes that this mission inspires.

Listen and watch “High Hopes” –

Birthed to travel the cosmos, Italy’s Vanderlust is a power-heavy metal band with prog-thrash influences that tells tales of space travels, astronomy, space engineering, and sci-fi adventures.

“We tried to mix a prog-thrashy riffing in the roots of Megadeth, Vektor, and Tool with epic vocal parts like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Angra, and Lione’s Rhapsody. We also put sci-fi elements in our songs, so you can hear also something from Voivod.” adds the band.

This debut recording is like a stellar system with 12 different planets. The star at the center of the system represents the heavy-power metal around all the songs revolving. Despite all the tracks being irradiated by the same light, they are all different from each other. Vanderlust has fast thrash, slow and doom, shiny and brilliant to grunge, and darker songs. Like planets, which appear like simple small bright spots, but in reality, are all big worlds, Vanderlust‘s songs are more complex than they sound at first listen. In fact, you can easily sing along to some of the choruses even if there are complex riffs in the background. Vanderlust is particularly proud of the participation of opera singer Letizia Cappellini who does vocals on select tracks and helps the band further expand the vocal register of their compositions. The band also adds the presence of synths and electronic elements to the compositions to set the sci-fi mood of the lyrics.

“The main goal was to start a metal band that could be an inspiration for young people, a band that could tell them stories from the future when mankind will have overcome its limits and the solar system will be an entire human colony. This idea came to mind to founding members Francesco and Santo when they began their search for other members that could fit. Drummer Giacomo Mezzetti joined the space odyssey right before the covid-19 outbreak. Vocalist Riccardo Morello joined the band during the first lockdown in Italy, so the first song was entirely composed online, using videocalls and file sharing.” adds the band.

For their live aspect, Vanderlust is currently working hard to create a thrilling spectacle, giving all their energy to the fans and letting them join them on the space journey.

Vanderlust is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Angra, Tool, Helloween, and Vektor.

Finnish rockers Serpico are proud to release their latest album “The Chosen Four” this July 1st, 2022 via Rockshots Records. The album was produced by platinum-selling Finnish record producer Anssi Kippo (Children of Bodom, Hanna Pakarinen, Teräsbetoni).

“Warmth of full analog sound is the key word on this particular record. There are many things you have been missing out on in music and in the listening experience, I think. We hope fans will pay full attention to the album and go along with the music. I must say there is no way back from the world of analog recording once you step into it. This is the way we are going to do it from this moment on.”adds vocalist Vee Dour.

“People will definitely notice its high quality in songs, production, the sound & versatility if comparing to nowadays, dull sound world n’ song arrangements. Also, there’s a big difference when doing it all by full analog session, which we did. So, it’s gonna stand out pretty easily from the masses, I think. Although I hope so.” also adds drummer Jani Serpico.

Rockshots Records – Out Now! FORTIS VENTUS’s Debut Album “Vertalia”

Out Now! Rockshots Records release Greek trio Fortis Ventus’ debut album “Vertalia”

Combining symphonic and cinematic elements along with soundtrack influences, Fortis Ventus formed in 2015 and self-released their first ep “Haunted Heart” in November 2017.

In early 2018, due to creative differences, the band underwent significant changes. The driving forces that remained were composer, arranger, keyboardist George Halliwell and vocalist, lyricist Nancy Mos. Breathing new life into their work, the duo met Gregory Koilakos who would take on the role of guitarist. Together, the three musicians started recording their first full-length “Vertalia” with Gregory taking on both guitar and bass duties for the album, which also changed the band’s metal sound with its film score music elements.

Sentimental, dramatic, grand, cinematic, and imaginative, “Vertalia” is a concept album based on a novel-fairytale written by keyboardist George Halliwell.

“Twelve chapters for a total of twelve tracks”. adds Halliwell.

The theme of this fairytale focuses on an imaginary planet called Vertalia, where the main character starts their journey to discover their inner truth and the truth of life itself. Through the challenges they face during their journey back to Earth, they connect with their higher self and take a path to eventually achieve inner peace back towards their homeland of Vertalia.

“The audience will be surprised at the intricate orchestrations that hide behind complex melodies on this album. Each person hearing it, will find a glimmer to empathize in every track. We wanted to tell a story and give the listener a variety of feelings and a journey alongside the lyrics.” adds the band.

Fortis Ventus is recommended for fans of Hans Zimmer, Two Steps From Hell, Epica, Nightwish, and Kamelot.

“Vertalia” is now available as of June 3rd at the following links:

Rockshots Records – ANTHEA Shares New Video For Title Track From Sophomore Album “Tales Untold” Out August 2022

Los Angeles symphonic prog metallers ANTHEA announces their return in 2022 with their sophomore album “Tales Untold” to be released once again via Rockshots Records this coming August to follow their 2020 debut “Illusion”.

For the new album, Anthea has taken the reigns for a more DIY approach with vocalist Diego Valadez taking over also as the full-length’s producer along with bassist Eric “EJ” Guerrero in charge of music videos and photography.

“We released our debut album in 2020, but were, unfortunately, like everyone else, unable to tour or play live gigs. However, this gave us a lot of extra time to really craft this follow-up album into something special. Tales Untold was written and recorded throughout 2021 and I am so proud of the end result.” adds Valadez.

Fans of Anthea‘s first album “Illusion” will enjoy this one even more. The difference with this next record is that Anthea has a more mature sound and has carefully thought out the ebb and flow throughout it. Their end goal is to give a very dynamic and cinematic album in which the listener feels as though they’ve gone through a grand musical journey once they’ve reached the end.

“We also wanted to create a sense of escapism while keeping one fit in the real world lyrically.”

Today in preview of the album, the band is sharing with fans a new music video for its title track. The opening song is about how art inspires new generations of art forms whether it be novels, music, movies, poetry, etc.

“I just find the interconnectivity of it all fascinating. This song itself wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the music that we were influenced by, and their music wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for what they were listening to, and so on and so on.“ says Valadez.

About: Anthea is a melodic, symphonic metal band from Los Angeles, CA. With influences from bands like Nightwish, Kamelot, and Wintersun, as well as scores from composers such as Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and Danny Elfman, the band create a unique theatrical sound blending progressive, power, and thrash metal elements, with a grand, cinematic edge.

The band released some demo songs as singles which quickly began gaining attention in the local metal scene. Anthea began playing more live shows around Los Angeles, opening for various bands including Smile Empty Soul, Helion Prime, September Mourning, and many more.

In late 2019, Anthea announced that they would be entering the studio to re-record their singles as well as some new material for an official EP that would be titled “Illusion.” It wasn’t long before the group was contacted by Rockshots Records. The label suggested that instead of releasing an EP, the band should consider recording a full-length debut album. If they did so, Rockshots would release the record under their label. Anthea agreed and began working on more material.

Illusion, the debut album from Anthea was released on October 23rd, 2020 under Rockshots Records. The album has received many positive reviews from several magazines, blogs, and podcasts. The three singles “Moirai”, “Illusion”, and “Reach”, have all gone on to receive international play on various rock and metal radio stations.

The band returns in 2022 with their second album “Tales Untold” due out in August 2022.

“A sort of dramatic theatrical experience that of this “Illusion”, which ranks among the best releases of the gothic-epic panorama of 2020.” (8/10) Tutto Rock Magazine (Illusion review – 2020)

“A solid surprise from the USA here.” (5/6) – Scream Magazine (Illusion review – 2020)

“The song writing on this album is commendable and of the highest calibre. If you are looking out for a melodic sound with plenty of surprises and a true rollercoaster experience, you’ve hit the jackpot with this one. Go for it!” (9.5/10) – The Metal Resource (Illusion review – 2020)

“The music and the vocals work together in perfect harmony, whether its through gentler moments or full unashamed bombastic power. Lyrically, Anthea offer a truly poetic experience, elevating a listener’s wonder and imagination to optimum level.” (5 STARS) – MMH Radio (Illusion review – 2020)

“A long-term, melodic debut album, with excellent musical combinations, there are different tempos that can be heard as Thrash metal briefly, they have a strong combination that goes from Symphonic Metal to Power Metal and vice versa, at the beginning they start very Power Metal and end very Symphonic Metal, that gives variety to the album!” (90/100) – Darkzen Dragon (Illusion review – 2020)

“Overall, a fast paced and very infectious album of heavy hitting symphonic power metal with stunning twists and turns.” (9.5/10) – Metal Gods TV (Illusion review – 2020)

“I believe that Anthea have managed to convince us of the value of their musical ideas with a strong debut and of course with the composite result they present to us in ‘Illusion’.” – review – 2020)

“Congratulations ANTHEA on achieving one of the better albums for 2020!” (9/10 ) – Metal-Temple (Illusion review – 2020)

“The whole piece is just incredible to listen to as you get lost in the composition and what it stands for” – Jace Media (Illusion review – 2020)

Rockshots Records – The “Spotlight” Is On ANNIKEN’s New Single Off Upcoming Album “Climb Out of Hell”

Today the spotlight is being focused on Norwegian solo metal artist Anniken and her latest single off her forthcoming debut album “Climb Out of Hell”on May 13, 2022 via Rockshots Records.

Entitled, “Spotlight”, the single and album opener kicks is a track that many musicians can relate to. It’s about the anxiety and desire for success along with the love and hate relationship of being up on stage with the spotlight focused on you.

Digital –

Anniken has been a part of the Norwegian heavy metal scene for years with her band Darkest Sins, the studio project Ana – Metal for Charity, as well as being a part of her husband Marius Danielsen’s trilogy Legend of Valley Doom, both in the studio and with the live band. While in Darkest Sins she opened for bands such as Anthrax, Jorn, TNT, and UDO along with Legend of Valley Doom she has worked with legendary musicians such as Ralf Scheepers, Amanda Somerville, Roland Grapow, Matt Barlow, Doogie White, Jennifer Batten, and also actor John Rhys-Davies from the Lord of the Rings and Indiana Jones movies.

Writing her own songs and having a profound love of lyrics, Anniken is now progressing into her solo endeavours. Anniken‘s debut album “Climb Out of Hell” features nine tracks, a few of them co-written with her husband Marius Danielsen.

It is a varied metal album that is melodic, raw, and catchy with different types of songs for every kind of metal fan. Some slow, some fast, most of them heavy. Some of the songs have a deeper meaning to them, while others are just exactly what you think they are.

Anniken adds:

“Firstly, I want people to enjoy the music. Secondly, I want them to notice the lyrics. I love listening to music while reading them and trying to understand the stories that are being told. I hope that the listeners feel the same way. I like to also add, that some of the songs were written a while back. I had others that didn’t make the cut. Overall, it is fun to write with other artists and see how the songs turned out both in the studio and live. But writing with others also means compromising. And that is one of the main reasons behind starting my solo project. I wanted to show what I could do, without the guys (yes, the bands I’ve played with always consisted of all guys and me). It is, unfortunately, easy to underestimate female artists in metal. At least, that is my experience. There aren’t as many women within the genre as there are men. Very often I experienced that people just assumed everything was written by the men in the group. I don’t mind being “just the singer”, but I would love to show the world that I am, in fact, more.”

“Climb Out of Hell” will be available on May 13, 2022.

Rockshots Records – Out Now! LIONSOUL’s New Album “A Pledge To Darkness”

Out Now! LionSoul unveils their new album “A Pledge To Darkness” via Rockshots Records. The band’s third full-length follows their previous releases “Welcome Storm” (2017) (Limb Music), “Omega” (2013), and EP “The Throne” (2015). Since the band’s formation in 2012, they have shared the stage and toured with artists such as Domine, Iron Savior, GammaRay, Kissin’ Dynamite, Geoff Tate, Tygers Of Pan Tang in Italy and across Europe along with festival appearances on Metal For Emergency (IT), Biker Fest (IT), and Loud and Proud Festival (IT).

The new album “A Pledge To Darkness” is a huge step forward in LionSoul‘s career as it is more heterogeneous, in some ways darker than the previous ones. Featuring 11 roaring cosmic tracks, it brings with it nuances ranging from thrash to melodic death metal, including some death metal vocals in order to give more emphasis to certain passages. The album is a composition of different stylistic approaches that converge into the power/heavy roots that still remain at the basis of their sound. The songs range from a classic power metal opener with spatial atmospheres up to a futuristic western ballad, from speed metal tracks – that wink at thrash and melodic death metal – to 80’s synth-wave tunes, from mid-tempo hymns in Teutonic/industrial style to the almost omnipresent Cyberpunk themes. “A Pledge to Darkness”remains in all respects a power metal album, but with some dosed contaminations. Overall, its goal is to take you on a hyperspace voyage from Tatooine to 2049 Los Angeles, while passing through Tranctor. The band explains further:

“Imagine your planet at the end of its life and you have the burden to preserve the knowledge so you take a spaceship for a trip to L A in 2049 meanwhile you pass through a portal between 1953 to 1986 and also you change your skin to save the human race from a virus.”

Recommended for fans of speedy heavy metal, power metal, hard rock, and 80’s soundtracks, “A Pledge to Darkness” is now available as of April 29, 2022.

Rockshots Records – CARAVELLUS Unleash First Single “Memento Mori” Off Upcoming Album “Inter Mundos” Out June 2022

Brazil’s CARAVELLUS will be releasing their third studio album “Inter Mundos” via Rockshots Records on June 17, 2022. In lead up to its release, the band is sharing their first single “Memento Mori” with a lyric video.

Each song on “Inter Mundos” tells a part of the story. Arteiro meets DEATH in the song “Memento Mori”. In “Inter Mundos”, THE DEATH appears to Arteiro without a sickle or hood. She arrives smashing bones, in the form of a jaguar, named Caetana, and her three hawks: Sombrifogo, Caintura and Malermato. This personification of Death was created by the fantastic Brazilian writer, Ariano Suassuna. We have inserted it as a tribute to this great Brazilian writer.

Musically, “Memento Mori” is the most doom metal song in Caravellus’ discography. It’s an empowering, grooving and dark song! ” adds guitarist
Glauber Oliveira.

CARAVELLUS brings the technical sophistication of progressive power metal while transcending the genre by writing amazing songs with masterful musicality and Brazilian cultural roots. Their arrangements and song structures are highly technical, challenging instrumental work with unbelievable melodic vocal harmonies. With elements of thundering metal, rock, jazz, classical, Brazilian folk rhythms, solos plus unstoppable guitar shredding and intense keyboards, CARAVELLUS emerges as a new bastion of Brazilian progressive metal.

CARAVELLUS was originally formed in 2002 by virtuous guitar player Glauber Oliveira as a studio project with session musicians. After the first demo recordings (2002 – 2004), the line-up was completed to include Daniel Felix on keyboards, Charles Erlan on drums, Paula Araújo on vocals, and Pedro Lee on bass guitar.

In 2007, CARAVELLUS released their debut album “LIGHTHOUSE AND SHED” via Erpland Records. After its release, the band parted ways with Pedro Lee, Charles Erlan, and Paula Araújo.

Beginning a new course with new members and new ideas, Raphael Dantas (vocals), Cleison Johann (bass), and Pedro Nunes (drums) were recruited towards the end of 2007 in December.

CARAVELLUS‘ second album “KNOWLEDGE MACHINE” was released in 2010 by French label Metalodic Records. The sophomore full-length provided CARAVELLUS with a series of tours and important concerts as a support for bands Angra and Shaman.

Fast forward to 2018, CARAVELLUS began the process of writing and producing “INTER MUNDOS”. Deepening their Brazilian roots (such as maracatu, ciranda, frevo, caboclinho, coco de roda) combined with heavy metal, progressive rock, and jazz, the band’s present lineup consisting of Glauber Oliveira (Guitar), and Daniel Felix (Keyboards), Leandro Caçoilo (Vocals), Emerson Dácio (Bass) and Rafael Ferreira (Drums) have created a conceptual, technical and dense album.

Band founder Glauber Oliveira adds:

“The new CARAVELLUS album is the result of the musical maturation and refinement of the artistic mission established by this band. Culturally… If Brazil were a river, the northeast region of Brazil would be its source of this river.”

“INTER MUNDOS” is a concept album telling a love story between characters Arteiro and Aurora. The story takes place in the northeast of Brazil, in an unnamed village… with no precise location. It’s a kind of mythical place where the plot brings up universal issues, such as class conflict, corruption, religious intolerance, life, and death. The entire plot is steeped in a metaphysical atmosphere, where reality and fantasy merge seamlessly.

The album also features guests from Angra, Shaman, Sons of Apollo, and more.

Rockshots Records – SANDNESS Have “No Filter” w/ New Music Video For New Album “Play Your Part” Out May 2022

Italian classic 80’s hair metal-inspired band SANDNESS will be releasing their fourth studio album entitled “Play Your Part” this coming May 2022 via Rockshots Records. The album follows their two previous released records on Rockshots Records, 2020 EP “Enter Please (2020) and 2019 LP “Untamed”.

The new album is produced, mixed and mastered by Michele Guaitoli and features twelve original tracks including a bonus cover version of KISS’ “Turn On The Night”. The lyrics written for the full length give an insight into how the band kept themselves busy and entertained during the first lockdown in the spring of 2020.

The band comments:

““Play Your Part” is a different kind of animal from our previous releases, due to the lockdown, we had more time to think and work on the songs. We also worked a lot more with our producer Michele, who helped us bring our music to the next level. The new album is more mature and inspired by different styles: hard rock, classic rock, heavy metal, 70’s rock n’ roll, but also pop music from different decades. Overall, we want people to feel good when they listen to our songs. We feel our music brings you to a dimension where everything is solvable with some dance moves or some headbanging. Give you the bright side of things to escape the difficult times.”

Today, SANDNESS shares the second single off the full length. Entitled “No Filter”, it is another 70’s-inspired song, but with a message about today’s present.

“This track was written to remind us all of how fake we all are when it comes to social media. Have you ever taken more than 30 selfies just to delete them all because none of them is good enough, not even after all the editing? This song is for you!” adds the band.

“Play Your Part” due out May 20, 2022.

Rockshots Records – Finnish Rockers SERPICO New Single “I Am A Rocker” Off Forthcoming Album “The Chosen Four” Out Summer 2022

Finnish rockers Serpico are sharing their nextsingle “I Am A Rocker” off their upcoming album “The Chosen Four” due out July 2022 viaRockshots Records. The song was written by Serpico guitarist Snake to tell a tale about the band’s drummer Jani.

“I am so proud to have my own song written by someone else. It sounds just the way I am personally, how I feel and how I act. Snake really knows how to write a great song without forgetting the humorous side in the lyrics. Yes Sir, I´m a Rocker!” comments Jani.

Since Serpico‘s inception in 2005, they have released two full-lengths “Rose Tattoo” (2018), ‘Shallow Mistress” (2014), and an EP “Bad Commercial” (2011) along with touring all over Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and England. The band is genuine and unique Rock n’ Roll with big respect for the classic titans. Their forthcoming album “The Chosen Four” is produced by platinum-selling Finnish record producer Anssi Kippo (Children of Bodom, Hanna Pakarinen, Teräsbetoni).

Out Now! Rockshots Records – THE HUMAN TORNADO’s New Album “Love Is Démodé” + New Video “It’s Never Too Late”

THE HUMAN TORNADO‘s new album “Love Is Démodé” is now out as of March 11th via Rockshots Records and today to celebrate its release, the band is sharing their new video for “It’s Never Too Late”.

“Couple relationships are a very complex and delicate subject. Although a man or a woman can destroy each other physically or psychologically, it’s never too late to start over, but never forgetting that every action determines a reaction. The subdivision of this song into two parts was a deliberate choice to show the evolution possibly happening within a relationship. It’s a song that has an aggressive and compact sound along with unconventional structure making it unique when compared to all the other tracks on the new record.” adds the band.

Offering a slab of smashing knock-out heavy groove rock, The Human Tornado‘s “Love Is Démodé” follows their 2016 debut record “Storm In A Ketchup” (Hidden Stone Records). Since their inception in 2014, the band has been making shockwaves out of their home country of Italy supporting touring bands such as Twelve Foot Ninja, Destrage, and Crazy Town.

The album was self-produced by The Human Tornado with mixing and mastering done by Marco Paradisi at Boat Studio. The album features ten hurricane tour de force tracks that will leave fans breathless and eager to set the track listing on repeat from beginning to end. The lyrical concept behind the album is love, one of the strongest feelings of deep affection. It has different aspects and it can be addressed to another person, an animal, or a passion. But, if it’s pure, this doesn’t matter. The band explains further:

“For some years this feeling of love has been declining, going out of fashion. In fact, in our society finding people loving what they do is increasingly difficult and often image, power, success are the most important aspects of life. Moreover, these goals are more and more often achieved by means of questionable actions and negative feelings. In this album we want to express our idea of love in particular towards music, showing in every single song even the dark and negative sides coming from love in our life.”
