About SEVENDUST:
SEVENDUST
never follow a linear path. Instead, they continue to bulldoze a lane of their own with a proven one-two punch of rumbling grooves, unpredictable riffing, and stirringly soulful vocals unlike anything else in hard rock. As a result, their music connects straight to the heart as evidenced by their full-contact live shows and diehard “family” of fans. It’s why they’ve been around since 1994, tallied global sales of seven million, logged three gold-selling albums, delivered three Top 15 debuts on the Billboard 200, and garnered a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Metal Performance. 2021 saw them deliver one of the most-acclaimed albums of their career – their thirteenth studio masterpiece – Blood & Stone, which Metal Hammer christened “Sevendust’s best work in years.” However, the Atlanta quintet—Lajon Witherspoon [lead vocals], Clint Lowery [lead guitar, backing vocals], John Connolly [rhythm guitar, backing vocals], Vince Hornsby [bass], and Morgan Rose [drums]—defy expectations yet again on their fourteenth full-length and debut for Napalm Records, Truth Killer, produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette [Alter Bridge, Trivium, Slash]. Ultimately, Truth Killer reaffirms there’s only one SEVENDUST—and they’re here forever.

Finger Eleven release official music video for “Together Right”

MULTI-PLATINUM-SELLING BAND FINGER ELEVEN

RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR

 “TOGETHER RIGHT” WATCH HERE

OFF FORTHCOMING GREATEST HITSCOLLECTION

ARRIVING ON VINYL, CD AND DIGITAL FORMATS THIS SUMMER

Album includes multi-platinum hit “Paralyzer” and Juno-nominated “One Thing,”

plus a previously unreleased cover of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine”

Los Angeles, CA (May 10, 2023)–Multi-platinum-selling band Finger Eleven are thrilled to share the official music video for their latest single, “Together Right,” off the forthcoming collection of hit singles from Craft Recordings. Spanning over two decades, Greatest Hits highlights the group’s diverse range with fan favorites, including multi-platinum hit “Paralyzer” and Juno-nominated “One Thing,” plus chart-toppers like “Falling On”and “Living in a Dream.” As a bonus, the 12-track set also offers a previously-unreleased cover of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine” (a longtime live staple) as well as “Together Right.”

The song’s accompanying video, available to view here, opens in a factory, as uniformly-dressed workers move like cogs in a machine. But it soon becomes clear that not everyone is happy in their monotonous existence. “The video takes place in a world where everything is the same,” explains lead guitarist James Black. “Efficiency and conformity are mistaken for unity. But real connection, between two people, is WAY more powerful than people idly following a routine.”

“‘Together Right’ is about unity,” explains frontman Scott Anderson. “It’s about the bonds between people and how far that bond can extend before it’s broken. The song has an optimistic-sounding chorus but it’s really a desperate plea from one party to another asking please stick around, let’s go down with this ship together.”Recorded in Toronto last year with drummer/producer Steve Molella, the song packs a punch with anthemic guitar-driven hooks and high-energy handclaps.

Director Martin Klapperbein shares: “Shooting the music video was an unforgettable experience… Drawing inspiration from the film adaptation of George Orwell’s dystopian novel, 1984, we created a cohesive design that beautifully showcased the choreography through the wardrobe, color tones, titles, and casting choices. This project was definitely a group effort, and I’m so grateful to have worked with such a dedicated and talented cast and crew.”

Greatest Hits arrives on CD and digitally June 16th, while the vinyl edition (the band’s first-ever vinyl release) will follow on August 25th. A limited-edition Blue Smoke pressing is available exclusively via the band’s website and CraftRecordings.com, and indie record stores will carry an exclusive Yellow Marble variant. Meanwhile, fans can pick up a collectible version of the CD featuring unique packaging at Walmart, along with a Walmart-exclusive Purple Smoke LP. All formats are available to pre-order today

Finger Eleven, which currently includes original members Scott Anderson, Sean Anderson, James Black, and Rick Jackett, plus drummer Steve Molella (who joined the band in 2013) have remained active on the road and enjoyed their legacy as one of Canada’s biggest bands. Between 1995 and 2016, Finger Eleven was among the top 75 best-selling Canadian artists in Canada and among the top 25 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada – as evidenced by Greatest Hits. Today, they show no signs of slowing down. This summer, they will appear at a variety of festivals across North America. For more info, visit the band’s website.

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES SHARE LIVE VIDEO FOR “MANIC DEPRESSION (LIVE IN RIO)” — WATCH

SONG APPEARS ON UPCOMING ALBUM LIVE IN RIO OUT JUNE 2 VIA EARMUSIC

The Hollywood Vampires, the rock supergroup consisting of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen, have released a blistering live version of the Jimi Hendrix classic “Manic Depression,” recorded during their show at “Rock in Rio” 2015 in front of 100,000 fans. The track features Depp’s energetic guitar work, Cooper’s distinctive voice, Perry’s inimitable solos, and is backed by the thunderous rhythm guitar of Tommy Henriksen.

Watch the video here. Stream the song here.

“Manic Depression” was originally released on Hendrix’s 1967 debut album Are You Experienced and has become a staple in the rock music canon. The Hollywood Vampires’ live version brings a new energy to the song with its explosive instrumentation and electrifying solos that capture the frenzied spirit of Hendrix’s original. It’s a song that never fails to captivate audiences and transport them back to the magic of the ’60s. The live version of “Manic Depression” is available on all major streaming platforms. The Hollywood Vampires are on tour and will be performing throughout Europe throughout the summer.

In 2015, the Hollywood Vampires not only released their first album, but also played one of their biggest concerts, which will now be released as their first live album. After this success and the media interest in the ultimate rock group, sold-out concerts, and tours all over the world followed, and finally, in 2019, the second album Rise. Over 50,000 physical units sold, millions of streams, and worldwide cover stories in major magazines later, fans, press, and the band were ready to bring these songs to the stage. Unfortunately, part of the tour had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will finally be made up for this summer. Fittingly, the first live album will be released a few days earlier on June 2.

The new album Live in Rio will be released as CD+DVD Digipak, CD+Blu-ray Digipak, limited + numbered 2LP Gatefold Black, and can be pre-ordered here.

Late TOM PETTY Honored With Doctor Of Music Degree From University Of Florida

Getty Images

Rock legend and Gainesville, Florida native Tom Petty will soon add “doctor” to his running list of accolades. The late musician will be recognized by the University Of Florida with an honorary Doctor Of Music degree, a distinction he dreamt of receiving throughout his lifetime. Bruce PettyTom Petty‘s brother, will accept the posthumous doctorate on his behalf at the university’s spring commencement ceremony today (Thursday, May 4).

“I don’t think anyone in our family, including him, thought that he would be linked with the University of Florida this way,” says Bruce Petty. “It’s such a powerful thing, it was his life-long dream, and I know he would just be over-the-top, crazy happy about it.”

To commemorate the degree, the university and estate have partnered to launch The Tom Petty Endowment for Guitars & Innovation to support the next generation of artists in the School Of Music’s Guitar and new Music Business & Entrepreneurship programs. The Pettyestate has donated $100,000 in his memory to begin its foundations.

University Of Florida School Of Music director Kevin Orr shares: “We in the UF School of Music and College of the Arts are privileged to honor Tom Petty with an honorary doctorate degree in Music, celebrating not only his extraordinary achievements as an artist, but the ways in which his music has and continues to unite us as a community.”

Tom Petty‘s tireless defense of the rights of performing artists, and his compassionate advocacy for the well being of his neighbors in every community where he lived, are embodied by the students and faculty of the UF School of Music: commitment to one’s artistic passions, even in the face of challenges; the safeguarding of creative work to ensure unique and lasting impact; and indeed, the power of music to advance causes for the greater good in society.”

Additionally, 300 special limited edition commemorative posters of Shepard Fairey’s iconic An American Treasure artwork has been released today exclusively on the Tom Petty store. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the new Tom Petty Endowment for Guitars & Innovation.

The Cade Museum is also partnering with the UF School of Music to celebrate the conferral of Tom Petty’s honorary doctoral degree. On May 4, the Cade will host a sold-out showing of the award-winning documentary “Tom Petty: Somewhere You Feel Free”, which features never-before-seen footage, new interviews, and an inside look at Tom Petty‘s creative process as he constructs his landmark 1994 album “Wildflowers”. Film director Mary Wharton will be in attendance, doing a special question-and-answer session at the event. Prior to the documentary screening, UF School Of Music students will treat guests to a performance of “Wildflowers” tunes adapted for string quartet. The event celebrates the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame‘s “Wildflowers” exhibit that will open at the Cade Museum later this year.

Petty is widely recognized and remembered for his philanthropy and service to the communities he called home in Los Angeles and Gainesville, and his commitment to environmental causes. In partnership with the Tom Petty estate, the university launched a capsule collection in tandem with the first inaugural Tom Petty Day last year, which celebrated the late singer, his connection to the university and his hometown. The Petty family donated all the estate proceeds from the festivities to local charities — Kids Count and Family Promise — together, with the university, they are donating over $175,000. Kids Count supports education and early childhood interventions with an emphasis on literacy, while Family Promise works to bring families out of homelessness by providing housing and employment resources. In addition to his rock star talent, Tom Petty was consistently one of the staunchest and most outspoken advocates for the rights of working artists. Petty leveraged his platform and celebrity stature to challenge inequitable practices in the music industry and fought to protect the intellectual property rights of musicians. He is the recipient of some of the highest honors in philanthropy, including Midnight Mission’s Golden Heart Award (2011),and MusicCares Person Of The Year at the 2017 Grammy Awards.

BREAKING! Ed Sheeran Wins Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Getty Images

A jury ruled Thursday that English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran was not liable in a case where he was accused of copying music chords from Marvin Gaye’s classic “Let’s Get It On” in his 2014 hit song “Thinking Out Loud.”

The verdict in Manhattan federal court caps off a trial in which the popular musician took the stand himself to blast the lawsuit, describing it as “frustrating” and “insulting” because he “works hard” to write his own music. It took jurors 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach their decision Thursday.

Sheeran indicated at one point that if he lost the trial, he would cease writing music.

“If that happens, I’m done – I’m stopping,” he said in court, according to The New York Post.

Sheeran stood up and hugged his legal team after the verdict was reached Thursday.

The copyright infringement lawsuit was brought by the family of singer-songwriter Ed Townsend, who co-wrote Gaye’s song. The lawsuit reportedly seeks $100 million in damages.

While on the stand during the trial, Sheeran was adamant he had come up with the song himself, sparring at times with the plaintiff’s attorney, Keisha Rice, on the subject of “independent creation.”

Attorney Ben Crump, representing heirs of Gaye’s co-writer Ed Townsend, explained that Sheeran combined the songs during a concert at one point. He said merging the song was tantamount to “a confession.”

Addressing the accusation that he copied songs, Sheeran said, “I’d be an idiot to stand on a stage in front of 20,000 people and do that.”

Sheeran also slammed the plaintiff’s music expert during the trial, saying he gave a “horrible depiction” of “Thinking Out Loud.”

“I know he’s wrong because I wrote it myself,” Sheeran said about the song in question.

“If I can be honest, I think what he’s doing here is criminal,” the singer said.

The Peace Out tour will begin on 2 September in Philadelphia and make 40 stops across North America, including Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Chicago, and a hometown show in Boston on New Year’s Eve. The farewell tour will wrap on 26 January in Montreal.

“It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT!” the band, formed in 1970, said in a statement. “Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.”

The farewell tour will include original frontman Steven Tyler, lead guitarist Joe Perry, guitarist Brad Whitford and bassist Tom Hamilton. The group’s founding drummer, Joey Kramer, will not be in attendance.

THE PRETTY RECKLESS Shares Acoustic Version Of ‘Harley Darling’ From ‘Other Worlds’ Collection

THE PRETTY RECKLESS will release a new collection of music, “Other Worlds”, on November 4 via Fearless Records. The effort sees the group delivering its first proper acoustic recordings, unexpected covers and other reimaginings.

Today, the band has shared the visualizer for the acoustic version of “Harley Darling”. Watch it below.

‘Harley Darling’ is a love letter to [late THE PRETTY RECKLESS producer] Kato Khandwala,” says singer Taylor Momsen. “It’s as simple as that. So many of us have stories of losing loved ones, especially now, and I hope this song can be used in other’s healing as it was in my own.”

“Other Worlds” collates striking acoustic renditions of personal favorites accompanied by some very special guests. The recording of Elvis Costello‘s “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding” served as Momsen‘s first cover originally performed for the “Fearless At Home” livestream in the midst of COVID. As another pandemic-era cover, Matt Cameron played guitar and sang as Taylor powered an airy and lithe reimagining of SOUNDGARDEN‘s “Halfway There” from “King Animal”, generating hundreds of thousands of views on its initial post. Iconic multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Alain Johannes handled guitar on THE PRETTY RECKLESS‘ pensive and poetic interpretation of “The Keeper”, originally by Chris Cornell, while David Bowiepianist Mike Garson performed a stirring piano movement for THE THIN WHITE DUKE‘s “Quicksand”.

“For a long time, we’ve been trying to figure out an alternative way of releasing music, including songs we love that didn’t make our records, covers, and alternate versions,” explains Momsen. “We found a way to do this coherently and consistently with ‘Other Worlds’. We’re a rock band, so there are lots of electric guitars on our records. However, we’ve gotten incredible feedback from fans about our acoustic performances, and we’d never put those out in any real format. So, this is a different take on the traditional format of a record and a stripped back version of us that our fans haven’t really heard before, but it’s still us.”

“You get to hear a different side of Taylor‘s vocals,” adds guitarist Ben Phillips. “It was a chance for us to see what she would sound like singing songs by people who have inspired us. It also gave us some perspective of where we need to go and what we need to be if we want to be that good.”

“Other Worlds” track listing:

01. Got So High (remix)
02. Loud Love
03. The Keeper (feat. Alain Johannes)
04. Quicksand (feat. Mike Garson)
05. 25 (acoustic)
06. Only Love Can Save Me Now(acoustic)
07. Death By Rock And Roll (acoustic)
08. Halfway There (feat. Matt Cameron)
09. (What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding
10. Harley Darling (acoustic)
11. Got So High (album version)

MINISTRY Releases New ‘Git Up, Get Out ‘N Vote’ Video

With only 14 days left until one of the most important elections in American history, MINISTRY‘s Al Jourgensen is encouraging fans to “Git Up, Get Out ‘N Vote” by whatever means necessary ahead of the November 3 deadline. Today, MINISTRY releases a brand-new video to spread the message, using the music and lyrics from the notorious song that originally appeared on the band’s 2012 release “Relapse”.

Stay tuned to MINISTRY‘s official social media accounts (@WeAreMinistry) the next two Tuesdays (October 27 and November 3) for additional surprises that will launch leading up to Election Day.

To provide the perfect soundtrack to get fans engaged in the upcoming voting season, MINISTRY has also created a new playlist, “The Soundtrack To Your Election”, available now on Spotify. With 30 powerful selections, the playlist features personal favorites of Jourgensen as well as MINISTRY‘s own rally cries including new single “Alert Level” and tracks from the highly politicized album “AmeriKKKant”, the band’s most recent full-length release.

Jourgensen has spent decades using his music to rally fans and listeners to the fight for equal rights, restoring American liberties, exposing exploitation and putting crooked politicians in their rightful place. Songs like “Thieves”, “Lies, Lies, Lies” and “N.W.O.” have taken on political corruption and the societal constructs that led to historic events like 9/11 and the 1992 Los Angeles riots while the George W. Bush administration spurred an entire trilogy from the industrial godfather.

With America still on the brink, Jourgensen has re-entered the studio to create his missives that will become material for a to-be-announced new album on Nuclear Blast Records. The first taste, “Alert Level” was released in April, and asked fans to be part of the larger conversation by answering the question posed by the song, “How concerned are you?” Many of the videos have been shared across MINISTRY‘s social media pages as the band and Jourgensen encourage fans to remain engaged and informed in 2020.
