Influences And Recollections of a Musical Mind

Fiona Apple arrived with Tidal in 1996 and captivated me immediately with her sultry voice and moody piano based tunes. Similar to Tori Amos in some respects, but very much her own person at the same time, Apple scored a couple of MTV hit videos with Criminal and Sleep To Dream, and released several other songs from the album as singles. She was off to a nice start and I still enjoy hearing stuff off this record occasionally…it definitely satisfies a need from time to time.
